IMO, Matt not only pumped stocks, I believe he worked with certain MM's to "short and bash stocks"

With access to PM's, Matt could read the pm's of board mod's and others that may have had contact with CEO's thereby giving Matt "inside information" With private information gleaned from the pm's, Matt had the ability to predict when and what would be in a PR. Matt would then prevent pro-company posters from posting positive facts about the company, while he and his gang including an MM or two would move in, take over the board then short and bash until they killed the stock.
