livefree_ordie: I think it would be naive of anybody to think that management and patents owners did not anticipate having to fight for the patent and licenses that would go along w/ the patent if others wanted to use the process. Unfortunately, patent wars aren't won overnight but as soon as an undisputed victory is one, it's very likely that others following will much more willingly, or just willingly, pay the expected license fee. After all, at that point it's really not worth it to fight paying the license fee knowing that it very well could cost you much more in the end.

Scanbuy balked because they obviously didn't feel that undisputed victory was won and hoped that w/ the help of the EFF, they could win. That outcome doesn't seem remotely possible now after the USPTO review.

I'm guessing after a Scanbuy vicory, a simple phone call and follow up meeting between NEOM and any infringer will be all that it takes to get them to realize they are in the wrong and the way to correct that wrong would be to sign a license agreement.

Just my opinion,
