Thanks - I am with you mostly on what you said.

What I was inferring and again I am not so sure the Perl App can do - this weekend I will..

When I go to download historical it is pretty limited (O-H-L-C-V). If I go to Yahoo I can see a VIEW with more robust data - but again at the start of the next day it is reset (BID-ASK for example).

But you get my bit and you are suggesting - why care about "updating" a 52W value when you can just "re-get" the 52 week data. I agree with that in theory.

But my bigger plan is to backtest data - as such, if I miss 2 days, I may lose "detailed" pieces which I can not retreive - so I am back to building the 52W.

Anyahoo, I am at that stage right now - so I will revisit it all - go with the thought to d/l OHLCV and rip the 52W et al - then only worry about it (dated stuff) if I really start to use those fields in any back testing. (today I would say which stocks have a marketcap of X then backtest the data with the pricing only).

(FYI: Onsite in the US I charged $1000US/day mind you around 2000-2001 that was not insane then cuz everyone was rich and nobody got hurt. Paying $5000/day for Java programmers was... well boyz those were the dayz..)
