Athero, OT - You mentioned that to improve SA sypmtoms, place several tennis balls behind the back. Just wondering, did you mean to place them at the back of the neck? This would position the head in a similar way as when giving CPR, to keep the airway open. I was also thinking of getting one of those mini pillows that go behind the neck, which might have the same effect.

I found that trying to sleep on one's side all night isn't a universal cure all, since you unconsciously move around and change positions during the night, ending up on your back for at least some period of time. And if I sleep on my stomach all night, I can breathe fine, but I tend to wake up with dark 'bags' under my eyes. Maybe CPAP will be the ultimate answer (my dad uses one), but those units are expensive and cumbersome.
