Let's say this indeed is the case, and we have a huge short squeeze. MMs lose a crapload of money, and want a loophole somehow.

As I've mentioned before -- quite ironic, if the MMs decide to cry foul for SPNG manipulating the stock to make them pay a crapload of money, when they themselves manipulated the stock to drive SPNG out of business. Now, given today's sue happy world, this point in and of itself I can even fathom.

However, the consequence of doing this, is that they are pretty much admitting that they've naked short sold the stock to death (and I don't think there any way you can spin "Oh, yeah, we sold a hell of a lot of shares, but.. really.. it wasn't to drive the company out of business"), which incriminates them, the other major MMs which have been doing this, puts them all in jail, and opens up a whole new can of worms in regards to NSS in the marketplace in general.

Desperate? Yes. But comon, would you rather be poor and free, or poor (pooossssibly not as rich if somehow the case went in your favor) but in jail? Well for rich people that got used to the life of luxury, being poor is pretty much worse than being in jail, but hey that's another discussion right there...
