I've certainly seen partnerships that included an equity stake, but no examples of a Big Pharma 'buying an equity stake' in and of itself, without a partnership, occur to me offhand. Can you point me to a recent example of this? And if not, how can the absence of something that generally never happens be taken as diagnostic of anything?

Have you a better comp, a better partnership example to use as a measure of what would be a more realistic expectation?
