My “little birdie” informed me that, MCDs has heard of EESO. Recently someone posted that the stores are required to use authorized, private labeled cleaning products. While this is correct in theory, it doesn’t always work in practice. Corporate stores have no choice in the matter, but owner/operators occasionally will sneak in other products. Generally, as long as it doesn’t come in contact with food prep surfaces, and the store passes their routine inspections for cleanliness, they usually are not caught. However, the owner/operator accepts responsibility if something happens.
In order to be considered an authorized vendor, you either have to be large enough for them to approach you, or push your foot into enough doors to get their attention. From what I was told, EESO has been doing some doorway dancing. My contact informed me that EESO made a presentation to several regional officials, who have passed all of the info up to the next corporate level for evaluation. It takes time to move up the ladder, each level needs to look at the quality and value of the products and advance it on up the line. While the stores are on the lower level, corporate does listen since they are on the front lines. And the more owner/operators that try and like the product the better. Also, from what I was told, this may be the first store in the states using our products, but it may not be the first in the world.
