...once upon a time...before computers...traders had to grind it out with calculators and chart by hand...the task could be grueling and extremely tedious,while at the same time, it could be releasing and rewarding...
...the reward was true focus,enlightenment, and knowledge...there will always be something unique happen when man meets math meets markets...for a trader to truly have their hands on the pulse of the markets is magical...
...back when one had to keep tablets,with columns of daily prices...some tablets that keep a running total of the last fifty days eod prices...everyday...taking one price off while adding another price on, then dividing the sum by fifty...you know,to get your 50dma... ...other similar tablets would be there for the 20,10,200...(your really working when you have to do your own calculations for the bollinger bands you added to the chart...)
...one thing that I noticed,learning the markets in this way,is that sometimes,volatility can be recognized in advance by analyzing what was going on with a stock exactly 50 days ago...20,10,200...
...time and time again,I would be taking one huge volatile day off the count and adding one huge volatile day on...it is patterning...some times,I could see a big drop 50 days ago coming,and use that info to trade today...time and time again...it worked...
