Thanks but I still don't see how this helps GM to close a down a dealer. Let say there is a dealer in a small town that only sells about 5 cars a week. He has been there for 30 years and customers keep comming back to him, because they like him. They trust him and know that if they buy a car from him he will give them good service. The dealer makes a commission on every car they sell.
Lets say there is another dealer in a large city 50 miles away that has a larger lot and sells 25 cars a week. He has only been in business for 5 years. I don't see how it is going to help GM by refusing to sell cars to either one of these dealers.
I know, if I were that dealer, I would be pretty mad. I would look for another brand of cars to sell, maybe even cars from Japan. I would find a way to keep my customers, and cut GM loose.
I have already sold my GM stock so it dosent make much difference to me as a stockholder. However I am also a GM Customer. I have to keep my Buick running, I don't know if I would feel like buying another one even though I like the car.
