As I was once advised, the URL contained in "direct" codes can be hacked; "indirect" codes are not hackable...one key benefit for NeoMedia.
However, there are numerous other advantages with respect to indirect codes, some as it relates to security, but others that speak to unique applications that are simply unavailable with the direct method.
Regardless of the above, there is no doubt that direct codes have their place within the ecosystem, and all companies will find their niche. The market is simply too great for any company to fail if they have a qualified business model.
