Nice post. Yeah I agree that the offsetting shorts aren't the "fastest" way to make money, but you said it yourself regarding the market: "Anything could happen." So, that's why I did it this way. Of course, being on the correct side of the trade would definitely be the best way to go providing that happens, but if you end up being wrong then you could also stand to lose some money. So, guess it all depends on the amount of risk a person is willing to take, and how confident they are that the market is going to go a certain direction. Personally I thought the market was going to correct when it got to the 7500-7800 area, so that shows you how much I know, LOL. You could end up being right about the cost/benefit of doing this, but so far this strategy is working out pretty well in that I'm up a couple hundred in less than two weeks' time, so I'm fine with that. And you probably already know this, but both FAS and FAZ started out in the $55-$60 area when they first came out in November, so that's a pretty big drop from then until now. But I also have to admit that I enjoy playing some of those volatile picks that Langlui and some of the other good posters on the Hub have here; definitely more exciting, that's for sure :)
