What about a 152/252/852 (which will come @130nm for sure)
with the same old spec. Just do the math. When X52 is the
end of the line, x50 will consume just over 80W.


This is nonsense. When the x50 came out the x48's TDP
didn't go down. Stick to what AMD's datasheets actually
state instead of making your own crap up.

But is it relevant whether we talk about 82, 84 or 86W, when
Intel's new chip will consume over 150W?


Got a reliable source for that specific claim?

Prescott is problematical when it comes to power. Good
thing for Intel that the Dothan x86 line and IPF line seem
to have power issues well under control.
