I have no idea, but remember that brief and mysterious pop last fall, in early Sept????

never was any reason for that either, if I recall.....but sometimes we have seen pre-news increase in PPS and volume, presumably from unknown leaks.....the Bear Stearns announcement comes to mind......

anyway, if volume increases, it will be stronger confirmation than a PPS than can be yanked up and down by someone adding or removing a few thousand dollars ($15K (or so) traded as of now, and PPS touched 8 cents)....
