Yeh, the idea is the short term investors looking for quick profits have given the company a lot of grief - and ultimately an investor should be rewarded for belief in and commitment to a company, the greater the risk the greater the reward - jared would be weeding out those who have not trust or commitment to the company with that type of PR.
