I also read a forum from 2004 that states........

A colleague has told me that Toyota has a
(concept) car that is a hybrid
that can be charged from an external
charger as well as from the gas engine
that can be run as an electric-only.
Use it as an electric only commuter car, charging it at night, and
driving to/from work. When you need a longer distance
flick a switch and it's a hybrid.
Has anyone heard of this?
Anyone have a reference to info about it?

If this is true..they must license the patents for it...Which leads me to think that it might be cheaper to just buy the companies holding them...
