I always wondered what he was doing these days after he stopped crimefighting!

"All we can do is sell the fuel we have already produced. We are totally shut down from production."

The blaze, whose source is so far unknown, was reported at about 4 a.m. in the 40- by 60-foot wood-framed barn on the 1.9-acre site on U.S. 69 near Kountze, according to BATMAN.

Fuel being stored separately on the property was not damaged, according to BATMAN, and in any case contains no explosive agents.

Opened in August 2007, the company employs 12 and produces an estimated 15,000 gallons of biofuel monthly, according to BATMAN, who said he does not yet know how much his losses will total.

The building and equipment were insured, he said.

"The loss of income is hard for me to calculate right now because I honestly don't know when we will be up and running again, but I certainly hope it doesn't take more than a month," he said.

"I will take care of the employees one way or another."

BATMAN said he hasn't yet calculated exactly how much pre-made biofuel the company has on hand, but estimated it at about 30,000 gallons. He said he hopes it's enough to fill clients' needs during the shutdown.

Biofuel typically sells for about 30 cents less a gallon than standard diesel fuel, according to BATMAN.
