"Maybe QCOM anticipates a large rise in share price and wants to head off wild manipulation by creating a larger pool of shares. It would be more difficult to buy up and sell off a larger share base."

I'm quite confident this is the reason. One of our non-lunatic brethern mentioned the EXPONENTIAL growth we are likely to see in the coming months/years. As this plays out, I think the larger share pool will accommodate the growth rate rather well.

Quite OT: But for those of you around since '98/'99, when the food fight board got this out of control, the "Rocket to the Stars" board was formed where it became quite simple to screen out those with nothing constructive to offer. Shorts were ALWAYS welcome, provided they came to the table with solid, well thought out reasons for their views. It actually made for a very enjoyable discourse on QCOM and investing in general. Ahh, those were the days...

Oooh! Are you ready? Qcomillions=phinz(to left or right?)=pumper=xxx=yyy=zzz...what's the point with some of these yahoos?!!

Let's ALL make money! Those who want to make it with the stock price in retreat-have at it. Market timing is tough with SO many decisions. For those who enjoy "buy and hold": growing wealthy by standing pat, fine-no problem. It isn't "us vs. them", it's first one to the finish line wins. Remember, you only have to get rich once! ...and this stock can make you rich!
