A lot was said here - 1. full solutions = highly advanced completed products.
2. inside and out = facilitating internal flash componets, ie., actel,ti,cirrius,sigmatel,sandisk,intel... actually it's the OEMs preference and our team of innovative minds to achieve the feature-sets required to do things like a Evolution MTV player or a MXP voicenav player...
But IMHO our patents on the mngt between internal flash and the file mngt of the external storage is where we may see edig shine... Managing the throput in CF slots and the various forms of secondary storage, beit SD, Microdrive, or DataPlay.
The only DataPlay device is a exchanger between pc and dp disk, its seems that every DP user will need one - id lay ods we were instermental in this ... remember diskgo hai- it functioned between several modes for DP.
I may be way off base, but didn't back in 1999 our first designs started with Sandisk, JUSTRI days, well that's philips camera n Toshiba CF, SD -we've had free rain on any medium up to dataplay. In 99 edig may have regarded cameras as small potatoes thinking ahead to legal portable flas devices. Sure rio, philips, olympus have also done it. But you got to remember 'Falk saying 'We'd rather take the chance of eventually working with them before we look at any infriengment of our flash patents.
drhunt may be onto something regarding DNG/Digitalway coming to us in concern over MPman's flash litigation over all build mp3 players - thus 'SigmaTel currently offers IC solutions that we or our OEM partners could incorporate into our flash-based designs.' today... edig is coming of age, and imho in a big way. Hey thats why the bashers are so good - Rio sees it coming... to take its Coke away.
