I've bought on Ebay a few times.

My first experience was not a good one because I paid by money order and never checked to make sure that the person had good feedback. Ebay does have insurance though so I was reimbursed except for a $50 deductible.

Since then I only buy from people who have a history of good feedback and only use either Paypal or a credit card.
