It makes more sense that way. Release good new on a Monday and you have an entire week ahead of you for growth. Do it on a Friday, and the energy can fade over the weekend before the run even starts.

The opposite goes for bad news. Release bad news on Monday and you have 5 straight days of plunge ahead with no break for emotions to settle. Do it on a Friday, and people can trade with a level head on Monday, instead of panic trading.
