I see nothing in stocrates post that mentions "awards" do I?
It is never my intent to mislead, only to understand.

"However, OPTIONS authorized must be purchased from the company at the strike price set upon approval. So, options at $0.10 must be purchased, that is the employee PAYS out of his or her own pocket for the shares, at that strike price. Then in the future, the difference between the purchase price and the selling price is your (taxable) profit/(loss).
