Q-NET TECHNOLOGIES, INC. ANNOUNCES TECHNICAL ADVISORY BOARD AND ITS FIRST APPOINTMENT. LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA

Q-NET TECHNOLOGIES, INC., (OTC BB: QNTI) is pleased to announce the creation of its Technical Advisory Board. The board was created as the result of the significant interest expressed after the introduction of the company's new Q-Reader handheld reading device on January 9th 2002, at the International Book and Publishing Show in Beijing China.


This board will be responsible for advising and guiding the company in the development of its current and future line of products and services. "The company has already benefited from the enthusiasm and assistance received from a number of potential candidates that we are currently considering for positions on this board. We are delighted by their strong interest in our line of Readers and in the company," said Fredric R. Mann II, President and CEO.

The company is pleased to announce the first appointment to the Advisory Board, Dr. Xing Li, the head of the Department of Electrical Engineering at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.

Dr. Li's research activities and interests include signal processing, multimedia communications and computer networks. He has published numerous books and over 120 papers internationally in his research area. Since 1993, he has been one of the pioneers of the China Education and Research Network (CERNET), linking most of the universities and many of the high schools and elementary schools in China to the Internet. Recognized as its Chief Architect, he is a member of the Technical Board of the China Education and Research Project and serves as its Director. He serves on the Executive Council and as Vice Chairman of the Asia Pacific Networking Group, an International organization that includes the USA and other Pacific Rim nations, dedicated to the advancement of network infrastructure in this region and to development of all associated enabling technologies. He set up the first IP v6 network in China and, in addition to many research and working groups in telecommunications internationally, he has been involved in many Internet related research and development projects in Mainland China. Dr. Li received his B.S. degree in Radio Electronics form Tsinghua University in 1982 and his M.S. and PhD. Degrees in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University, Philadelphia, USA in 1985 and 1989, respectively.

The introductory model of the company's line of e-publishing devices, the Q-Reader, was developed in conjunction with Q-Net's joint venture partner, The Liaoning Publishing Group (LPG) of Shenyang, China, one of the largest and most technically advanced publishers in Asia. The Q-Reader is a hand held electronic reading device the size of an average novel that incorporates Internet connectivity, Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) and email capabilities. It features a large, readable screen and the capacity to download, store and display the equivalent of 25-30 books, periodicals and research materials of between 200-300 pages each. Known as E-Books, this published material can be displayed in both English and Chinese.
