The discussion of a private placement would run into the same obstacles encountered at the bank. Also, a private placement would transfer control to the new lenders at the expense of the public shareholders and would amount to an acknowledgment that public financing had failed.

This company should have been financed with private equity from the beginning. Perhaps Wilf Blum can tell us why it was not.
