>....have they licensed the IP from GTCB?<

>This appears to be a nutritional application of genetic engineering, despite the use of human studies to verify the claims. Note that human studies are often used to make claims for agricultural products without those studies being considered clinical evaluations of a drug. Studies would be required in this case since this group is seeking to establish their goat milk product has a different (and beneficial) nutritional effect over “standard” goat milk. Our US IP is for transgenic production of therapeutic proteins in the milk of any mammal. The most distinguishing characteristic is that the proposed application depends on people ingesting the milk as food. Our products will all be administered as drugs under the care of a physician. I am not aware of this group seeking a license from us for their application. However, should the resulting product be approved for use as therapeutic in the US or if the product is deemed therapeutic and is produced in the US, even if not sold here, we may very well have an IP claim on the program.<
