Richie - if you watched the SRI video, you'd see just how easy it was to create a compound (referred to as the Magnum/SRI compound in the video) and test it tensil properties. Applications such as retread tires have already been been through the R & D process as mentioned in the video. This is a proven process. That's a huge market in and of itself. Other applications for special compounds would require some testing to determine the best mix of properties, however that's minor compared to inventing the product from scratch. The patents have already been proven.
