Jerry, Just curious, did Varney mention Shire at all, even in passing, in your recent phone conversations? Thanks.

One reason I feel a little upbeat about Cortex's current funk, is that I see the potential for a 'MEMY' type event emerging in the months ahead, ie - a stock getting flattened beyond flat (.15 cents or under), and then having a buyout announcement, yielding a quick ~ 5 bagger.

For this to happen, the flattened company has to - 1) be exceedingly cheap, while - 2) still have something valuable that a pharma wants. Even though Cortex doesn't have an existing partner in the way that MEMY did (Schering being only a quasi-partner, and preoccupied by their Merck merger), I'd say Cortex's pipeline and technology platform would have significant value to at least several BPs (Lilly and Glaxo for starters), certainly enough to justify an acquisition on the (relative) cheap.

Anyway, the stage has been set for a possible downward drift in Cortex's pps for several months. If it gets into the teens I will consider getting some via a gradual nibbling approach. I remember MEMY got down to a ridiculously low point prior to the buyout. The key there was to not buy until at/near the nadir when everyone finally throws in the towel.

One problem from my perspective is that I'm not all that confident about the prospects of seeing good SA results. I see it as on the long shot side of the spectrum (but then I was skeptical of ADHD and RD too). But 'POC' in SA may not have to be complete reversal of symptoms, but something more modest.

Well anyway, this will be interesting to watch.
