GeneralGrievous...

I started to answer your question and then deleted my response. I don't like speculation so absent something in writing from the company, I cannot answer your question.

Having said that,

As per your post as of Last q ISSUED and outstanding was 1.24 billion

Then, from the today's press release We noted on February 2 that there were roughly 700 million SPNG shares outstanding at that time. There have been no significant changes to date. All rumors to the contrary are unfounded and without merit.

Just because they are "issued" that does not mean they are "outstanding".

ANY stock, returned to the Treasury or cancelled does not get counted in the "outstanding".

The reason I mention this is because of:
...and an additional 76,623,293 shares that were purchased by certain of our affiliates through December 31, 2008 who have agreed to return these shares to treasury. In addition, the Company intends to return to the treasury and cancel an additional 133,577,066 shares that were returned to the Company by a principal shareholder

Until such time as they file their next Q or come out with an 8k, we are not going to know exactly what has happened since their last filing.

By virtue of the fact that the press release that came out today reads "roughly"...that tells me that maybe they don't know the EXACT number and they would rather wait until they have the EXACT information before they put anything out.
