OT, H, your timeline is interesting, because we left just about 4 years ago, so I hope you are right, cause things were pretty dangerous down there for awhile--the authorities actually had to put up signs with a great big "sun" on them as a direction marker to keep people on the safe roads. Accidentally venturing off those roads was a very dangerous thing to do during much of my time in Miami and Homestead--they had a rash of highway murders of tourists that became pretty scary and was cutting into the tourist trade pretty deeply.
