Cyclone Power Adds Engineering Muscle to its Waste Heat Engine Division

2009-03-10 08:00 EST - News Release

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. -- (Business Wire)

Cyclone Power Technologies (Pink Sheets: CYPW) announced today that Allan L. Brown, a renowned engineer, has joined Cyclone’s Waste Heat Engine division on a full-time basis.

Mr. Brown, who has consulted part-time with the company since July, will now be spearheading development of the company’s solar thermal engine system, including building and integrating prototype solar thermal reflective troughs. These proprietary solar energy collectors are designed to deliver sufficient heat to the company’s waste heat engine (WHE) to generate up to 10 kW of electrical output per engine.

“We have received considerable requests lately for solar applications for our engines,” stated Frankie Fruge, Cyclone’s COO. “We need to provide a low-cost, easy assembly solar thermal trough system to maximize the commercial potential of the WHE. I am confident that Brownie can get this done.”

Mr. Brown’s engineering and mechanical experience spans over 56 years, during which time he has developed propulsion, hydraulic, electrical and exhaust systems for some of the best known names in the marine business. Over the years, Mr. Brown has served as Director of Product Development for Cigarette Racing Team; President and CEO of Cougar Marine, which built powerboats that won 12 World and National Championships; Director of Product Development for Stainless Marine; and General Manager of Donzi Marine.

CORPORATE PROFILE

Cyclone Power Technologies is the developer of the award-winning Cyclone Engine – an eco-friendly external combustion engine with the power and versatility to run everything from portable electric generators and garden equipment to cars, trucks and locomotives. Invented by company founder and CEO Harry Schoell, the patented Cyclone Engine is a modern day steam engine, ingeniously designed to achieve high thermal efficiencies through a compact heat-regenerative process, and to run on virtually any fuel - including bio-diesels, syngas or solar - while emitting fewer greenhouse gases and irritating pollutants into the air. Currently in its late stages of development, the Cyclone Engine was recognized by Popular Science Magazine as the Invention of the Year for 2008, and was presented with the Society of Automotive Engineers’ AEI Tech Award in 2006 and 2008. Additionally, Cyclone was recently named Environmental Business of the Year by the Broward County Environmental Protection Department. For more information, visit www.cyclonepower.com.
