Anybody remember Jaws?...May be about time to throw another barrel overboard to see if it can be pulled down...

Cigarettes were about $7 a carton in the early 80s...Prices are about to move up due to a huge new gov't tax increase in the week ahead on tobacco items by almost the price of a carton in the early 80s...

In the name of progress, some of the big old companies that counted on that for steady revenue may see a drop in Unit revenue while total revenue may go up...Its the gross profit on the volume of Unit revenue that makes the net profit till go cha-ching more often...

Anyway get your data out on the different categories of crime for each state to start plotting...

New prediction...Crime will surge due to the new tax increase on cigarettes and other tobacco products...And not all from petty theft for a pack...The latest cigarette increase could spur new stealing and dealing much like drugs on the streets...Within a few years costs to lock up and battle the new crime wave may exceed the tax increase that heats things up...LJ

BTW,,,Len, someone else picked the gold price much closer than me in 2008...
