Will they work? Are they targeting the right people?
Personally, I think GZ first needs to steal the gamers market from the current players. Right now, I'd say they can't compete only in the movie market. Netflix has too good a head start, too built up a user base with reviews, recommendations, etc.
However, GZ blows away the games market where the average is 2 for $20. Now, I'm not saying most people would like to have 3 games out at a time. I think even 2 is too much for the average gamer who takes one game and plays it till he's done. However, the addition of movies, with a cheaper price tag, is unbeatable.
I say focus on the gamers first, then the movies. And I don't think the ads do that.
