BOCA RATON, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Juniper Group (OTCBB: JNIP - News) has announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary is in the final stages of negotiation to sign a Master Contractor Agreement with one of the country’s leading wireless owners and operators with over 20,000 sites nationally to bid on the installation of back-up generators for their Hurricane Belt site project.

Hreljanovic said, “We expect to win a substantial number of bids and to realize significant revenue as a result of our alliance in this crucial, system-wide effort to improve emergency reliability and expand communications capability.”

As evidenced by the new series of probabilistic hurricane storm surge products which become operational June 1, 2009 by the National Weather Service, weather forecasters are expecting violent hurricanes will head for the Southeast, Florida and the Gulf Coast this summer. As operators scramble to prepare for the 2009 hurricane season, they are making huge investments in back-up power to ensure their networks are ready before, during and after severe weather. “After all the recent power outages, operators in the region can see that the grid is just too unreliable,” said Mr. Hreljanovic. “Without emergency power, operators can’t keep customers connected in an emergency or disaster. And that’s when their customers are counting on them the most. So, it all boils down to trust, and trust is vital to their reputation and competitiveness. This agreement gives us the opportunity to bid on the installation of on-site generators and extensive network enhancements along the Hurricane Belt of the southeast U.S.”
