GE CEO, Vice Chairman Buy 100,000 Company Shares >GE

General Electric Co. (GE) Chairman and Chief Executive Jeffrey Immelt and Vice Chairman Michael Neal purchased 100,000 company shares for more than $800,000 on Monday, according to regulatory filings.

Immelt purchased 50,000 shares at $8.26 each, for $413,000, while Neal bought the rest at $7.90 each, for $395,000, according to filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Immelt now owns 1.72 million GE shares directly and 23,580 shares indirectly, while Neal holds 753,341 shares directly and 3,930 shares indirectly.

GE shares recently traded at $7.75, down 77 cents, or 9.1%.
