It seems like if you are going to try and trade SRS intraday, I would watch DJUSRE and SRS.IV.

Watching the index, I would

1. target a point of support or resistance where trading might pivot

2. calculate the percentage gain or loss on the index at which the pivot works out.

3. apply the percentage to SRS.iv

4. place a limit order at or slightly beyond the percentage level indicated and wait for the trade to come to you.

5. then immediately calculate the numbers for the exit of the trade. targeting some percentage you can live with.

the big boys are trading in and out less than half a percent at a time with multiple trades. they also take multiple gains and losses. their computers can do that.

On a related topic, I wonder how those computer trading black box style hedge funds are doing.... you don't hear much about them.
