Most of my gains come in little chunks. Most of my losses in big ones. And it unfolds the same way almost every time. I'll hit so many winners in a row that I think I'm invincible. And what am I doing wasting all these good plays with a micro-lot. Let's bet three and triple my winnings! Oh crap, my entry was bad, time to double down! Oh crap, somethings worng! I can't take a loss like this, I'll just ride it out. Damn! A margin call, I'm broke. Oh, NOW it does what I thought it would...

On a related note, I often go into a losing streak right after making a withdrawal (because I'm overeager to get to the next withdrawal) and sometimes have to put some of the money back in again. Two Fridays ago I was down to $315 in my account and I was determined not to have to make another deposit, so I've really been trying to focus on discipline. Never mind the "sure thing", stick to the trading plan, protect myself, don't ride out losses, accept small gains if the trade is slow to develop.

So now two weeks later I'm at $1,250 and have some breathing room again. I haven't been perfect, and I probably never will be, but I am trying to take to heart one important result--with this stripped down play it safe small ball trading, I'm almost making the returns (avg. $500 a week) I was trying to make with the aggressive too many risks trading that resulted in semi-regular disaster.
