LTC has established six divisions, each focusing on procedure-specific product designs: General Surgery & Gynecology Medical Group, Orthopedic Tissue Sciences, Colorectal Connection Management Pulmonary Sealing Sciences, Urologic Tissue Welding, and Aesthetic Tissue Welding. The BioFuse Tissue Sealing System (consisting of the VAD.400 bipolar generator, PCS. 900 open straight forceps, and PCC.900 open curved forceps) is a proprietary third generation radio frequency (RF) bipolar tissue management system using a combination of precisely calculated energy with physical pressure to seal and bond arteries, veins, ducts, and many other human soft tissues and organs.


Technology / Differentiation
The BioFuse sealing system is capable of sealing vessels as large as seven millimeters in diameter and withstanding a vessel burst pressure as high as seven times the normal systolic blood pressure. The algorithm of the BioFuse VAD.400 generator, powered by smart-chip technology, measures and processes multiple critical tissue variables to ensure that the appropriate amount of energy is delivered to the targeted area. In a process lasting mere seconds, the BioFuse sealing system shrinks and denatures collagen and other cellular proteins within the tissue, which later enables permanent protein bonding with minimal tissue sticking and charring. The BioFuse automatic tissue analyzing system detects when the seal is completed and terminates energy delivery. The new seal is also created without the deposition of foreign materials potentially interfering with future diagnosis. Due to the diminished or eliminated leakage, scarring and tissue incompatibility associated with conventional wound closure tools (i.e., sutures, sealants, staples, and glues), LTC dubs its process 'foolproof automatic scarless surgery.'

Market / Customers
In its aim to be a global organization with worldwide distribution, LTC is currently marketing the BioFuse generator and forceps in the United States and to over thirty countries throughout Europe. The physician-focused company has conducted several clinical trials and oversaw surgical procedures on over 10,000 patients in Eastern Europe.


Status
LTC was established as a subsidiary of Consortium Service Management Group, Inc. in 2007. It received FDA 510(k) clearance to market its BioFuse generator and forceps in July 2008 and was later awarded the CE Mark Certificate for its forceps in September 2008. The company next plans to implement its USA sales representative recruitment plan and ramp up production for distribution. LTC currently holds a total of 16 patents and 15 patent applications pending worldwide relating to its BioFuse Sealing System.
