OK guys, the “new trend“ of applying new taxes to people like us has started. In post #73444 (click above) I already tried to draw some attention in this direction. I thought that those very vocal conservatives of this board, who spend so much energy on political commentaries, might find it interesting. It is time to take some action: sign the petition and/or write to you congressman.

As a proof for the authenticity of this trend, tonight I got the following E-Mail from my broker:

"Effective March 1, 2009, the Options Regulatory Fee of $.006 per contract ($.01 minimum) will be assessed by CBOE to each member for all options transactions executed by the member that are cleared by The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC), regardless of the exchange on which the transaction occurs. Therefore, beginning with the March 2, 2009 trade date, all option transactions executed in your TradeStation Securities brokerage account will be subject to the Options Regulatory Fee."
