I forgot to answer the most important question and that is the advantage of options is you can only lose the premium if it expires worthless but I would not trade options with the idea of not watching them, I think options even if they are July's, AUG or further out can erode in value quite quickly and you need to have a stop loss in mind.
One of the great advantages of options is you can short the market or make money going down with less risk then holding short positions by buying Puts and they will go up in value when the stock or market declines just as Calls go up in value when the stock or market rises.
