NorCalAimer......all,

Here's the deal. My original intention was simply to build a system that had AIM like qualities but was better than AIM.

When I intitiated this thread I had absolutely no idea that I would be approached by a programmer who would turn my ideas into a program. When I developed StockWerld.com 4 years ago, I always wanted it to be free, and I only put links on it that were to other free sites. Once a site became subscription, I removed the link, because I firmly believed in the free model. I certainly could have imposed a subscription fee to certain sections of StockWerld, such as the popular MarketEye and intraday chart sections. StockWerld has received over 4 million "hits" and I have literally over 10 thousand traders from clearstation that subscribe to my picks and thousands more that are on my StockWerld emailing list, that might have been willing to pay for those services. But I always felt I was a generous person, and lucky enough to not need any extra financial income. No other person was or is responsible for StockWerlds development other than me, so I was never responsible for compensating anyone. I say all this so you understand by my actions that I am not the "greedy" type.

This X_DEV program is a different matter. I am not alone in it's development. It is entirely built of my own formula's, and none of the formula's I received in emails or posts on this thread have been used in the system, though some of the idea's presented here have shaped some of my thoughts on what qualities may be needed. There is another person involved who I believe has every right to be compensated, and that is the programmer. Let's face it, we live in a capitalist society, where anyone has the right to profit from their ideas. I believe everyone on this thread is a capitalist to some degree. I also firmly believe (as stated earlier) that if I was to use a fee based structure for the program and profit from any subscription fees, that the user must also profit many times over any cost involved.

Does that sound selfish or wrong? Should I not have initiated this thread and kept X_DEV all to myself? Should the programmer not be compensated for his hard work, not only from developing the program but for future planned upgrades and customer support? Should I not profit from the hundreds of hours of work I put into X_DEV and will continue to put into it?

If you or anyone feel I have abused them in some way for their thoughts, I am truly sorry. If it is the consensus of those that visit this thread, that I should discontinue this discussion on X_DEV, then I will do so. I can only say that my intentions were and are honorable, and I have no desire to mistreat anyone at any time. My desire was only to build a system for trading stocks that would help others trade much more profitably. If the majority feels that a sharing of ideas toward that end is unjustified because X_DEV may be subscription based then I'll go away quietly and limit X_DEV to StockWerld users only.

Let me know,
