Codeman, in one word...Yes. With this patent it virtually assures that Neom will receive money from each transaction...or simply those transactions they choose. Ie, I'm sure they won't charge the general public for creating barcodes that link to their personal info on facebook, but they will certainly charge for people who click on a barcode to receive a discount on an item.

I expect that mobile gaming represents an enormous opportunity that neom is prepared to take advantage of. The gaming industry represents their primary demographic.

The fact that Bill Gates and Visa have now announced their interest in mobile finance is indicative of how enormous this is about to get. And I would caution against thinking these initiatives were born today...mobile banking has been in beta for over a year. :)
