Last year in July, Bendall arranged a loan of $5,000,000 with Smart Win (Hong Kong). $5M was sufficient to drill the Bellevue #1 well, but SW stopped paying after advancing "only" $3,900,000... Because of this, there was only enough money to drill the top-hole (272m) in August/September and mobilize/prepare the Hunt Rig (November, December)... There was no money left for the "deep drilling".
If "the Chinese" would have kept their word and paid the whole $5M, the Bellevue well would have been drilled already!
However, despite the "money problem", EEGC didn't give up and they are currently negotiating with Smart Win and other potential investors in order to secure funding for the drilling.
I'm sure they'll get this project financed, despite the current "CREDIT (!) - crisis".
Good luck guys! Those who don't take any risks will never win... In Dutch we say "Wie niet waagt, blijft maagd!". It means "Those who don't dare, stay a virgin" .
