Excellent post Myis,

I couldn't agree with you more..In the first week of work with the Company I spent 10 years at..I was riding with the owner and he asked me what my long term goals were..I told him it was my ambition to have my own business..he was shocked to hear me say that and said do you really think that is the right thing to be telling your current employer?? I quickly responded that he should be glad that I was that ambitious..I went on to say that I realize that I have only been working in the business for a year and I have plenty to learn before that could come to fruition..I told him my goal was to be his best service man and earn my way up to service manager to where I can learn the management end of the business..At that point I would set goals for growth that should be beneficial to the company..I went on to do everything I said and when I let him know at my ten year anniversary that I was going into my own business..while he was disappointed I would be leaving..he did tell me that I was the best employee he had ever had...

I always looked for that motivated employee when I was hiring and had five different employees that went on to have their own businesses..And I took great joy in teaching them all the different aspects of the business..they were my best employees..

It really is sad to see some of the workforce out there with a I don't give a crap attitude...I don't care how menial their job is..
