Evolution Technologies, Inc announces release date for DataPlay enabled, MTV licensed, digital audio player.
Raleigh, NC, February 28, 2002 - Brad Deifer is more of a music guy than a techie, but has managed to position himself in a pretty sweet spot to capture the emerging market for digital music.
President Brad Deifer revealed today that the first DataPlay enabled audio player will be on retail shelves May 1st 2002. Negotiations are currently taking place with all major electronics retailers to determine geographic distribution and availability. "This is going to be the only MP3 player to own," says Deifer. DataPlay's optical media has made it possible to currently store up to 500 megabytes of information on a single two-sided disc. The disc is slightly larger than a quarter in diameter and will write once. The Evolution Technologies Inc. player will be the first piece of hardware to utilize the new media. The player will also have the capability to burn content directly onto the media thus making it an all in one device.
