my guess is that the fabs will tweak the prescott parameters to increase the highend binsplit at the cost of reduced yield. the (now more rapidly) declining northwood production will allow the inventory to be used up as lower bin units.

as far as price wars, i doubt it. otellini responded to a question to that effect and said all parts of the market are served and that moving price wouldn't help units move any faster being basically inelastic.

just a guess...
