I have a few general promoting/advertising questions and wondered if a few of the gurus on this board could answer it for me?

If someone has on their website that they were paid to "advertise" a said stock yet they posted positively for over a year on various stock boards about the stock and attack others that have negative opinions, shouldn't they have to disclose how much they were compensated?

Now add to this factor that this person was involved in the merger and was compensated because he was the ex CEO of the shell. If he's still posting on boards about this stock, shouldn't he be required to post how much he was paid both in free trading and restricted shares? He seems to be posting that he's a "very large shareholder" which IMO is deceiving because it's not being disclosed how he became a large shareholder and how much he was compensated.

I've also noticed other promoters that will disclose that they were compensated in shares and will update how many shares they still currently own (thus disclosing how many they've sold). Is this also a required disclosure or something that they're just being up front and honest about voluntarily?

Anyone know something about the SEC laws in reference to any of these issues?

I'd love to know.

Thanks!
