Sometimes I forget that I am held to a higher standard than most, and should also hold myself to those standards and strive for even higher ones. Fact of the matter is, as anyone who's really known me for any length of time can attest, dammit, I can really get into a brawl. I suppose especially after I've spent way too much time in head-down, bang-out-the-code-for-the-people geeking.
NW, you keep hinting to me with the subtlety of a 2x6 smacked against my head (8-footer, CCA), but when I'm in full-brawl mode, it's hard to back down.
I apologize to all for losing my temper. And losing my temper is exactly what I did when I saw a post that invoked betting the life of one of my precious children.
I restored BoP's account about an hour ago and sent him a PM asking (perhaps demanding) a private or public apology for it. I just want to know, from him, that he knows that went over the line. Though I care about the bad-mouthing of me (much more than people keep telling me I should), I don't care about that even remotely as much as the comment about my daughter. Hell, I was even enjoying the argument a bit. He's a challenging opponent and those're not easy to find. <g>
Anyway, I'll try to be better at turning the other cheek, but I do ask that some of you who keep doing the slapping keep in mind that you're talking to another human being here.
Again, I apologize for losing my temper. I won't say it'll never happen again. But I'll try not to let it.
