Check to see if your systems supports DMA (Direct Memory Access).

Some G3 systems use DMA which when used with Jaguar or higher is an incredible speed boost. I rebuilt a Beige G3 266 mhz with Jaguar and it runs faster than a 350 mhz G3 Blue & White go figure.
