First, they simply dig into the profits they've had from the 1-2 billions shares they have sold naked to a myriad of investors of a myriad of companies.

An occasional loss, even of this dimension, hardly diminishes the size of their largesse.

Second, If this plays as I think it will, there will be no phantom shares left, they will have been covered.
