IDNW news...Dibz On Pace With Generation Y
5/7/2002 9:03:00 AM
DENVER, May 7, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Dibz, Inc., a Denver-based subsidiary of iDial Networks (OTCBB:IDNW), announces plans to introduce the "Dibz Powered" Card this summer. The Dibz Powered Card is a prepaid "stored value" card that will allow consumers to purchase online digital content at partnered retail locations and to make discount phone calls.Initially, Dibz will target teenagers with online access, disposable income, but no credit card through sponsoring and partnering with extreme "core" sports events and athletes. Gen Y, the kids of Boomer parents, average $100 a week in disposable income, spending a remarkable $150 billion a year.

"Here's an example of how the Dibz Card will work," explains Dibz president Zac Folk. "Johnny loves action sports. He snowboards all winter and skateboards all summer. This summer as he's standing at the checkout line of his favorite store, he sees the Dibz prepaid card in a display by the register. The card has a picture of one of his favorite pro skaters on it. So he picks one up. His new card allows him to go online and purchas e items such as exclusive video clips from his favorite action sports athletes, unique mobile phone ringer tones, MP3's, eBooks and more. Johnny can now purchase these low cost, high value items without a credit card, something that had been impossible for him before."

Dibz has a unique idea that satisfies the needs of consumers and businesses alike.

For consumers, Dibz vanquishes online privacy fears by providing a secure method of payment that acts like cash. While conventional credit card transactions are attached directly to the identity of the cardholder, Dibz Cards are totally anonymous. The card also allows for increased control over spending because the value is never greater than the stored value on the card. For consumers, the greatest benefit of the Dibz concept is accessibility. In the past, online purchases were limited to those with credit cards. Dibz makes it possible for anyone to make purchases online and provides the added benefit of serving as a calling card.

Internet merchants will love the Dibz Card. It offers increased sales by making available the potential buying power of the 40% of American households without credit cards as well as the $5 billion plus stored credit on prepaid calling cards. The Dibz proprietary payment processing system will allow merchants to save money, protect themselves from credit card fraud and make profitable the sale of items less than $5 in value.

The cards will be available for purchase in mid June 2002 at select retail locations, on the Web, and at high visibility youth culture events.
