How exciting, got this email from a friend this morning..
Subject: Inauguration Day 2009: A Personal Note to My Family and Friends
Inauguration Day 2009
It was a dream of mine, when I was a young woman, to witness liberty and justice FOR ALL in my lifetime. In the 1960's and 1970's my life was not yet cynical and hope was still alive to see my dream come true. As time went by and "life happens" I lost my vision and couldn't remember why I was so hopeful. Today, as I witness the scene at the mall where our President Obama will be sworn in, with one hand raised and the other on the bible of Lincoln, my dream has come true. I am reminded of a purer time in life when I believed and I am restored with hope and renewed optimism. If I were a younger woman, I would have made the journey to the "mall" to witness this historic event and share the love with those who have helped me realize my dream. I am grateful to today's youth who have brought back those feelings of hope and that the torch of equality HAS been passed. Thank you to those who never lost the vision and for those people who have restored my hope for a future without prejudice and JUSTICE FOR ALL. In the words of John Lennon (and my favorite song) Imagine all the people living life in peace. (the next dream) Shalom!
